Karnataka High Court Orders BBMP to Pay Pandemic Dues
The Karnataka High Court has told the city government (BBMP) to pay over 10 crore rupees to two hospitals.
These hospitals provided medical services, like COVID-19 tests, during the pandemic.
One hospital is owed about 5.8 crore rupees, and another is owed about 4.5 crore rupees.
The city government initially didn't want to pay, saying a special group that looked into COVID-19 spending had rejected the hospital bills.
But the court decided the city government has to pay.
Karnataka High Court ordered BBMP to pay over Rs 10 crore to two medical establishments.
The orders were for services rendered during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vijayalakshmi Diagnostics Private Limited is to recover Rs 5.8 crore for RT-PCR testing services.
BGS Global Institute of Medical Science is owed Rs 4.5 crore for 24/7 RT-PCR services.
BBMP argued the COVID inquiry commission rejected the payment of the bills.
