Leaders urge youth to read books over social media
Recently, two important leaders in India spoke about the importance of reading books.
The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, and the Union Shipping Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal, both encouraged young people to read more books instead of spending too much time on social media.
They said that books help us learn, think deeply, and understand the world better.
They also mentioned that book fairs are like special places where people can find lots of knowledge.
The Agartala Book Fair in Tripura had 183 stalls and was themed around the song 'Vande Mataram'.
Unfortunately, no publishers or booksellers from Bangladesh were there due to some issues happening there.
The Assam Book Fair in Guwahati had a big turnout, which was a good sign for society.
Both leaders agreed that while technology can help us read in new ways, nothing can replace the depth and imagination that books give us.
