Gujarat HC Denies Bail to Crypto Converter in Cyber Slavery Case
The Gujarat High Court recently made a big decision in a case about a cyber slavery racket.
They said no to bail for Shashank Saxena, a man who helped turn cryptocurrency from the crime into US dollars.
The court thinks he was a key part of the illegal activities.
However, they said yes to bail for two other men, Akib Husen Saiyed and Danish Dantreliya.
These two were trying to help their friends find jobs but didn't know the jobs were actually a trick to take people to Myanmar and make them work as cyber slaves.
The court believes they didn't know the bad things that would happen.
The case is about a group that promised good jobs in Myanmar but instead made people work as slaves.
Saxena is accused of handling a lot of money from these crimes.
Gujarat High Court denied bail to Shashank Saxena, accusing him of being a key player in converting cyber crime proceeds from cryptocurrency to US dollars.
The court granted bail to Akib Husen Saiyed and Danish Dantreliya, considering them small-time players who were unaware of the consequences of their actions.
The case involves an international cyber slavery racket where people were lured with fake job offers to Myanmar and Thailand.
Saxena is accused of converting cryptocurrency worth Rs 1.54 crore for the main accused, Neepender Chaudhary.
Saiyed and Dantreliya received commissions for sending people to Myanmar, but the court found their actions to be bonafide and without knowledge of the larger conspiracy.
