Tejashwi Yadav Seeks Fresh Bihar, Bengal Polls Amid ECI Row

Tejashwi Yadav, an opposition leader in Bihar, has asked for new elections in Bihar and West Bengal.

He says the Election Commission of India did not properly address concerns about how voter lists were being revised.

This revision is called the Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

Yadav accused the election body of helping the BJP, though these are allegations made by him.

He also claimed that money was given out during elections and that government agencies were used unfairly.

Another opposition group, the CPI (ML), made similar demands.

It asked for action against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

It also called for the SIR to be stopped and for some previous elections to be cancelled.

The Election Commission’s response was not included in the article.
