Kuppam Becomes First in State to Adopt Net Zero Waste System
Imagine Kuppam is trying to be super clean and green!
They're the first in their state to use special trucks that run on natural gas and electric cars to pick up trash.
These new vehicles can carry a lot more trash than the old ones.
They're also working on turning trash into useful things like gas and fertilizer.
The goal is to make Kuppam a place where waste is reduced and everything is reused.
People are encouraged to help by sorting their trash.
This project is part of a bigger plan to make Kuppam a model for others to follow.
Kuppam is the first municipality in Andhra Pradesh to adopt a Net Zero-fuel waste collection system.
The system includes a CNG-powered refuse compactor and electric autos for door-to-door collection.
The initiative is part of the 'Swarna Kuppam – Swachha Kuppam' vision to make Kuppam a circular economy model by 2029.
A waste-to-CBG production facility is being set up to convert organic waste into biogas and fertilizers.
Awareness campaigns are being launched to promote waste segregation and sustainable practices.
