ICICI Prudential Launches New SIF Funds

ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund has introduced two new investment funds called iSIF Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund and iSIF Hybrid Long-Short Fund.

These funds are part of a new category called Specialised Investment Funds (SIF), which sits between regular mutual funds and more flexible but expensive investment options.

The iSIF Equity Ex-Top 100 Long-Short Fund will invest in companies that are not among the top 100 largest companies by market value.

It will use a strategy called long-short, which means it will buy some stocks (long positions) and sell others (short positions) to manage risk and aim for better returns.

This fund is designed for wealthy investors who are willing to take on more risk for potentially higher rewards over the long term.

The fund will focus on mid- and small-cap stocks, which can be more volatile but also offer higher growth potential.

The minimum investment required is Rs 10 lakh, and the fund aims to provide risk-adjusted returns across different market conditions.

The iSIF Hybrid Long-Short Fund will invest in both stocks and bonds, using derivatives to manage risk and reduce volatility.

It will adjust its investments based on market conditions, aiming to provide smoother returns.

The fund will keep most of its money in stocks but can reduce its stock exposure when the market seems overvalued.

It will also use derivatives to hedge against potential losses.

This fund is suitable for investors who want a mix of stocks and bonds with some risk management.

The minimum investment is also Rs 10 lakh, and it aims to provide steady returns with lower volatility.
