Delhi to promote cow-dung cakes for eco-friendly cremations
The city government in Delhi wants to use cow poop to help people cremate their loved ones in a way that's better for the environment.
They're going to try this out in a few places first.
They'll make cow poop cakes and give them to the places where people burn bodies.
They also want farms that have cows to make these poop cakes, or they might get in trouble.
This is all to make sure the air stays cleaner when people are cremated.
MCD to launch a pilot project promoting cow-dung cakes for eco-friendly cremations.
Gaushalas will produce dung cakes and supply them to NGOs operating cremation grounds.
MCD will only renew agreements with NGOs willing to promote cremations using cow-dung cakes.
At least four gaushalas and four cremation grounds will be included in the pilot project.
Dairies must install dung-cake making machines or face action from the veterinary department.
