Intel Shares Drop 13% After Weak Guidance
Intel's shares dropped a lot after they told investors they might not make as much money as expected in the next few months.
Even though they made more money than expected in the last few months, they lost more money overall.
The company said they don't have enough stuff to make all the chips people want, but they think things will get better later this year.
Last year, their shares went up a lot because people thought they would get big customers for their chip-making business.
Now, their shares are much lower.
The company also said that the cost of memory parts is going up, which could make things harder for other companies like Apple.
Intel shares dropped 13% in pre-market trading due to weak first quarter guidance.
Fourth quarter revenue was $13.7 billion, beating estimates of $13.4 billion.
Fourth quarter net loss widened to $600 million from $100 million the previous year.
First quarter revenue guidance is between $11.7 billion and $12.7 billion, with EPS at breakeven.
Analysts expected first quarter EPS of $0.05 and revenue of $12.51 billion.
