Javed Akhtar Angry Over Sholay Dialogue Change
Javed Akhtar is very upset because a famous line from the movie Sholay was changed without his permission.
In the original movie, Amitabh Bachchan's character says he is like James Bond's son.
But in a new version, it was changed to say he is like Tatya Tope's son.
Akhtar says this is wrong and the audience won't like it.
Sholay is a very famous Indian movie from 1975.
It's about two friends who help a retired police officer catch a bad guy.
The movie is so popular that even its dialogues are remembered by fans.
A restored version of Sholay is coming out soon, and Akhtar hopes they haven't changed other famous lines too.
The film will also feature its original, unaltered ending, which was changed in 1975 due to censorship.
A famous dialogue from Sholay was changed from 'Haan, James Bond ke pote hain yeh' to 'Haan, Tatya Tope ke pote hain yeh' without permission.
Javed Akhtar expressed anger and concern over the unauthorized change.
The restored version of Sholay is set to release on 12 December, 2025 in 1,500 screens across India.
Sholay was first released on 15 August, 1975, and is considered one of the greatest Bollywood films.
The film's original writers are Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan, and it was directed by Ramesh Sippy.
