Amit Shah Celebrates Pongal in Tamil Nadu

Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for a special Pongal festival celebration in Tamil Nadu.

The event was held in Mannarpuram, Tiruchirappalli, where 1,008 decorated pots of Pongal were prepared.

Shah and other BJP leaders participated in cooking the traditional dish.

The festival, named 'Namma Ooru Modi Pongal,' is a way for the BJP to connect with the local people.

Shah also had political meetings to discuss strategies against the ruling DMK.

The BJP is trying to link Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Tamil cultural traditions.

There is also a dispute over a religious site, with the BJP welcoming a court verdict that the DMK opposed.

The BJP and AIADMK are planning to work together in the 2026 Assembly elections to challenge the DMK.
