Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren appeals for dialogue after police force

Students in a state called Jharkhand were upset because they thought something was wrong with their job recruitment exams.

They believed the exams were not fair, so many of them went to the city of Ranchi to protest.

The students marched toward the state Assembly building to make their voices heard.

Police used tear gas and sticks to stop the crowd, which hurt some peaceful protesters.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, said he had heard the students' concerns.

He asked them to talk things out calmly instead of continuing to protest.

The government agreed to cancel three exams and started its own investigation.

But the students want a special agency called the CBI to investigate, and they said they will keep protesting until that happens.

A leader named Rahul Gandhi also said police should not have used force against peaceful students.

The Chief Minister said the police acted with care, but he did not yet say yes to the CBI investigation.
