Nagarjuna and Team Reveal 4K Restoration Struggles of Siva
Nagarjuna and his team at Annapurna Studios worked hard to restore the old film 'Siva' to look and sound amazing in 4K.
They faced many challenges, like sticky film negatives and missing audio.
They had to clean each frame by hand and search for old film prints to fix the sound.
The restored version was shown at a big film festival and Nagarjuna is excited to see more old films get this special treatment.
Nagarjuna and Annapurna Studios restored Ram Gopal Varma's 1989 film 'Siva' in 4K with Dolby Atmos sound.
The restoration process began before 2019 and took 8-10 months to complete due to extensive damage to the film negatives and audio reels.
The team had to clean the film frame by frame and search for old film prints to recover missing audio.
The restored version of 'Siva' was re-released on November 14, 2025, and screened at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
Nagarjuna expressed his excitement about seeing more cult classics remastered in this way.
