Hyderabad Set to Receive 2,200 More Electric Buses

Telangana is preparing to add 2,200 electric buses to its roads.

Electric buses use electricity instead of diesel.

Another 240 diesel buses will be changed into electric vehicles.

TGSRTC already has 1,024 electric buses operating in the state.

The government says it has procured 2,932 new buses.

A free-travel scheme has helped women make many bus trips without paying fares.

Bus occupancy increased from 67 percent to 89 percent.

The government also gave tax exemptions to encourage people to use electric vehicles.
