Judge releases redacted transcript of Charlie Kirk case hearing
A judge in Utah has decided to release most of the transcript and audio from a private meeting about the trial of Tyler Robinson, who is accused of killing Charlie Kirk.
The judge said that the media doesn't need special treatment to cover the trial.
Robinson is charged with serious crimes, including murder, and the judge has made some rules about how Robinson will appear in court.
The judge will decide later about whether cameras will be allowed in the courtroom.
Charlie Kirk's death has been condemned by people from different political sides.
A Utah judge ordered the release of most of the transcript and audio of a closed-door hearing in the Charlie Kirk case.
The judge denied media outlets' request for special status to cover the proceedings.
Suspect Tyler Robinson is charged with seven criminal counts, including aggravated murder.
The judge ruled that Robinson may appear in court in regular clothes but must be physically restrained.
The judge will consider a defense request to ban cameras from the courtroom at a February hearing.
