NMC Directs Medical Colleges to Join SC-Backed Mental Health Survey
Imagine schools are trying to figure out how to help students feel happier and safer.
A special team, chosen by the country's highest court, is creating a survey to understand what makes students sad or stressed.
They want to hear from students, teachers, and parents.
Now, a group called the NMC is telling all the medical schools that they need to help with this survey.
They want the schools to tell their students and teachers to fill out the survey online.
The survey asks questions about how students feel at school, if they feel included, and what could make things better.
This is all to help make sure students in all big schools get the support they need and to help stop sad things from happening.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has ordered all medical colleges to participate in a survey.
The survey is conducted by a Supreme Court-appointed national taskforce to address student mental health.
The taskforce aims to prevent suicides in higher educational institutions by gathering stakeholder views.
Online, anonymous surveys are available on the taskforce's website in English and Hindi.
Medical colleges are asked to encourage their students and faculty to participate in the surveys.
