Tirupati CME Trains Doctors in Bedside Ultrasound
Doctors in Tirupati went to a special training day where they learned how to use a small ultrasound machine right at a patient’s bedside.
They practiced looking at lungs, hearts, blood vessels, and checking for hidden bleeding or wrong tube placement.
The training was led by the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.
The doctors said that using ultrasound quickly helps doctors decide what to do next and saves patients time.
The event had five stations where each doctor could try different ultrasound skills.
It was a big help for doctors who treat emergencies and critical patients.
The training also showed how useful ultrasound is in many medical fields like surgery and cardiology.
The goal is to make patient care faster and safer.
The doctors were excited to learn new skills that can save lives.
ISCCM Tirupati branch hosted a CME on point‑of‑care ultrasound at BIRRD Trust Hospital.
The hands‑on program taught lung, cardiac, vascular, trauma and airway ultrasound to anaesthesiologists, critical‑care specialists, emergency physicians and trainees.
Participants practiced at five stations, learning to detect pneumothorax, pleural effusion, pulmonary oedema, shock causes, DVT, internal bleeding and confirm tube placement.
Dr Gudaru Jagadish highlighted that POCUS speeds diagnosis and improves emergency care by providing real‑time bedside imaging.
The event was led by ISCCM Tirupati leaders: President Dr Harikrishna, Secretary Dr Rana Pratap, Treasurer Dr Shankar and Programme Director Dr Subhashree.
