Mumbai Monorail Suspended for Upgrades, Enhancing Reliability
The Mumbai Monorail will stop running starting September 20, 2025, to make it better!
This is so they can add new trains, improve the signaling system, and fix up the old trains.
Right now, there's only a short time at night to work on the trains, making it slow to upgrade them.
This shutdown will let them work faster to make the monorail safer, faster, and more dependable for everyone.
The upgrades include a new signaling system and new trains made in India.
Mumbai Monorail services will be temporarily suspended starting September 20, 2025.
The suspension allows for the integration of new rolling stock and upgrades.
New Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) signaling is being installed.
10 new rakes are being procured, with 8 already delivered.
The upgrades aim to improve safety and reliability for commuters.
