Nellore Mayor's Resignation Accepted by Municipal Corporation
The Mayor of Nellore, Potluri Sravanthi, resigned from her post on December 14 due to personal reasons.
The Nellore Municipal Corporation held a meeting on Thursday, where 40 out of 52 corporators attended.
They unanimously accepted the Mayor's resignation.
Poluboina Roop Kumar Yadav, the newly elected in-charge chairman, will now act as the in-charge mayor until a new mayor is appointed.
He assured that the coalition government will follow democratic procedures and that the remaining 11 months of the current body's term will focus on developmental activities.
The public was appealed to cooperate during this transition.
