Impeachment Motion for Judge to be Considered in Lok Sabha
An attempt to remove Justice Yashwant Varma from his job is being handled differently.
Initially, a plan to impeach him was accepted, but now, it will be taken up in the Lok Sabha, another part of the government.
The motion in the Rajya Sabha, was backed by the opposition and accepted by the former Vice President, has now been cancelled.
This all started because of burnt cash found in Justice Varma's house.
The current decision is to take it up in the Lok Sabha, rather than following the earlier process.
Motion to impeach Justice Yashwant Varma, linked to a cash incident, will be moved in Lok Sabha.
The Rajya Sabha's motion, accepted earlier, will be discarded.
The former Vice President accepted the motion which led to his resignation.
Justice Yashwant Varma is an Allahabad High Court judge.
