ECI Releases Draft Electoral Rolls with Deletions
The Election Commission of India has released new draft lists of voters for four regions: Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
This is part of a process to make sure the voter lists are correct and up-to-date.
Over 3.68 crore voters have been removed from the lists across 11 states and union territories.
The Andaman & Nicobar Islands had the highest number of deletions at 21%.
People can check these lists online or through local officials.
The lists help add new voters, remove those who have moved or passed away, and fix any mistakes.
If you live in these areas, you should check the list to make sure your information is correct.
You can also add your name if you're eligible but not listed, or report any errors you find.
The final list will be published on February 21, 2025.
