Lalitha Jewellers Plans Malaysia, Singapore Showroom Expansion After IPO
Lalitha Jewellers wants to open stores in other countries.
Its first new international store is planned for Malaysia, followed by Singapore.
The company also wants many more stores in southern India.
It currently has 64 stores there and plans to add 110 more.
Later, it hopes to expand into northern Indian states.
The company recently completed a successful IPO, which means its shares were offered to the public.
Chairman M Kiran Kumar said this increased his responsibility.
He also said people should not be too worried about buying gold when prices are high.
Lalitha Jewellers plans to open a showroom in Malaysia within two months, followed by one in Singapore.
The company aims to increase its South Indian presence from 64 stores by adding 110 showrooms.
Its current South India focus includes Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
After expanding in the South, the company plans to enter Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
Chairman M Kiran Kumar said high gold prices should not deter purchases because gold is expected to appreciate over the long term.
