Karnataka Leads India’s Chip Design Support With 73 Tape-Outs

Karnataka is currently the leading Indian state for semiconductor design support.

A semiconductor is a tiny electronic component used in many devices.

Through the ChipIN Centre, 81 organisations in Karnataka received help.

These organisations completed 73 chip tape-outs, meaning designs were prepared for manufacturing.

Karnataka also used electronic design software for 88 lakh hours.

Tamil Nadu and Telangana were the next leading states in several measures.

The ChipIN Centre gives organisations tools, computers, technical help and other resources.

The government says this activity shows that India’s semiconductor ecosystem is growing.
