Charitable Trust Expands Education, Skills and Women’s Empowerment

The Human Welfare Charitable Trust helps children, young people and women who have fewer opportunities.

It runs centres in Malad and Naigaon, Palghar.

The Naigaon centre started as an orphanage in 2004 and later began helping the wider community.

Staff encourage children to return to school and provide lessons, computers, books and meals.

Children can learn skills ranging from basic computer use to Python and coding.

Families also receive nutritional support and grocery kits.

Women can earn money through a project that turns old clothes into bags.

The organisation says these efforts can help families move away from poverty.
