El Niño's Effects Test Telangana's Water, Energy and Governance

El Niño is a weather pattern that can affect how much rain Telangana gets.

The article says Telangana had less rain than usual during the reported period.

When less rain reaches tanks and the ground, farmers may have less water for crops.

Pumps may then need more electricity to bring up groundwater.

Hot weather can also make people use more electricity and can make outdoor work dangerous.

If farms produce less food or fodder, prices could rise.

The article says government departments should share information and plan together.

It recommends helping farmers prepare early and saving more water.

El Niño cannot be stopped, but planning may reduce the harm.
