India's ELI Scheme to be Available to All Companies
The Indian government is starting a new program called the Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme to help create jobs.
It will be available to all companies that offer formal sector jobs.
The government will give money to help businesses hire new workers and help first-time employees.
The goal is to encourage companies to hire more people by providing them with incentives and it hopes to reduce unemployment, especially among young people.
The ELI scheme, approved by the Union Cabinet, will be available to all companies.
Operational guidelines for the ELI scheme are expected to be issued soon.
Companies will apply to the EPFO to avail benefits under the ELI schemes.
The ELI schemes aim to incentivize the creation of over 3.5 crore jobs in two years.
The first scheme offers a one-month EPF wage up to ₹15,000 in two installments.
