NGT Chairperson Joins Plantation Drive at Indian Botanic Garden

Justice Prakash Shrivastava, who leads the National Green Tribunal, visited a large botanical garden in Howrah.

He joined a tree-planting activity in an area for rare and threatened plants.

The event was part of two environmental initiatives.

One campaign encourages people to plant trees in tribute to their mothers.

The garden has more than 12,000 living plants.

It is also home to the famous Great Banyan Tree.

The event called attention to protecting native plants and nature.

Other senior NGT officials attended too.
