Delhi Receives Approval for Cloud Seeding to Tackle Air Pollution
Delhi is trying to clean its air using a special method called cloud seeding.
They've gotten permission to make it rain artificially!
They will use a plane from IIT Kanpur to spray tiny particles into the clouds to wash away pollution.
The trials were delayed but are now set for late August to early September.
This is part of a bigger plan to make the air cleaner, especially during winter when pollution gets worse.
Delhi received DGCA approval for cloud seeding trials to combat air pollution.
The trials are scheduled for August 30 to September 10.
IIT Kanpur will conduct the cloud seeding operation.
The method involves dispersing hygroscopic particles to induce rain.
The project is part of the Environment Action Plan 2025.
