NAPA Urges Action After Sikh Immigrant Killed in New York

Gurdeep Singh was a 28-year-old Sikh man from Punjab’s Kapurthala district.

He moved to the United States more than a decade ago.

He was shot and killed while making a pizza delivery in New York City.

The North American Punjabi Association said his death deeply hurt his family and community.

The group said this should not be treated as an isolated event.

It wants investigators to find out exactly why the killing happened.

It also warned about wider threats, extortion and violence affecting Punjabi and Sikh people in the United States.

NAPA asked law enforcement agencies to work together more closely.
