IGMC Doctors End Strike After CM's Assurance
Doctors at IGMC in Shimla were on strike because one of their colleagues, Dr. Raghav Nirula, was fired after a video showed him fighting with a patient.
The strike made it hard for patients to get medical help.
The doctors stopped the strike after the state's Chief Minister promised to look into the matter and reverse the firing.
The doctors said they will keep an eye on the investigation to make sure things are fair.
They also thanked other doctors and groups for supporting them during the strike.
Now, the hospital should be back to normal.
The Resident Doctors' Association (RDA) of IGMC, Shimla, ended their indefinite strike on December 28 after assurances from the Chief Minister.
The strike was called off following promises of a comprehensive enquiry and revocation of the termination of Dr. Raghav Nirula.
Dr. Nirula was terminated after a video showed a physical altercation between him and a patient, Arjun Pawar, on December 22.
The RDA will remain involved in the enquiry process until the termination orders are formally revoked.
The strike had affected hospital services, and its withdrawal is expected to resume normal medical services at IGMC.
