NGT Orders Probe into Environmental Violations at Ghaziabad School
The National Green Tribunal (NGT), a special court for environment cases, has told officials in Uttar Pradesh to check if a school in Ghaziabad is breaking any environmental rules.
Someone complained that the school is building things without following the rules, like not reporting their work and not controlling dust.
The NGT wants the authorities to see if the school is doing things like taking out too much water or using generators that cause pollution.
If the school is breaking the rules, the authorities have to take action within two months, and try to get back any money the school was supposed to pay earlier for breaking the rules.
NGT directs UP authorities to investigate environmental violations at Bal Bharti Public School in Ghaziabad.
Allegations include illegal groundwater extraction and non-compliance with environmental regulations.
The school is accused of construction violations, such as non-registration and inadequate mitigation measures.
UP authorities are instructed to act on the allegations within eight weeks if violations are confirmed.
The NGT also addressed the recovery of a previously imposed environmental compensation.
