Prop Traders Increase Short Positions
In the last trading week of 2025, special traders called proprietary traders made bigger bets that the stock market would go down.
They did this by increasing their short positions on two important stock indexes, the Nifty and the Bank Nifty.
On Friday, they added a lot more of these bets compared to Wednesday.
The market was closed on Thursday for Christmas.
This means these traders think the market might not do well soon, so they are preparing for that.
Prop traders increased net short index call option positions on Nifty and Bank Nifty.
Increase of 120,022 contracts from Wednesday to Friday.
Previous positions were 53,442 contracts.
Markets were closed on Thursday for Christmas.
