Indore Doctor’s 23-Year Mission to Help End Tuberculosis

Dr Dilip Sharma has spent more than two decades helping people with tuberculosis, or TB.

He says his mother’s story about his brother dying from TB inspired him.

Since 2003, he has worked in Depalpur, near Indore.

He travelled to many villages to help people get checked and receive treatment.

The article says around 20,000 patients completed treatment with his support and free medicines.

He also encourages people to finish all their medicine and not feel ashamed to seek care.

Dr Sharma believes communities can help stop TB from spreading.

He hopes to see TB ended in his lifetime.
