Telangana Medical Council Cracks Down On Alleged Unauthorised Medical Practice

The Telangana Medical Council checked 12 healthcare facilities in two mandals.

The inspections happened on October 2.

Officials said some people may have been treating patients with modern medicines without the required qualifications or permission.

They reported finding medicines such as antibiotics, steroids and painkillers at some places.

The council also raised concerns about medical-waste disposal and laboratory reports.

It alleged that two practitioners used other doctors’ names.

The council said legal action would be taken where appropriate.

People can report suspected unauthorised practice confidentially.
