29 Naxalites Surrender in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma

In Sukma, Chhattisgarh, 29 Naxalites gave up their weapons and joined the mainstream.

They were part of different groups under the Maoists and were helping the top leaders by arranging meetings, food, and planting bombs.

One of them, Podiam Budhra, had a reward of Rs 2 lakh on his head.

The police and CRPF welcomed them under a special program called Poona Margem, which helps them start a new life.

The recent setup of a security camp in the Gogunda area made it harder for the Maoists to operate, leading to this surrender.

Many other Naxalites have also given up violence recently.

The government is working to end Naxalism in the country by March 31, 2025.

The surrendered Naxalites were part of the group involved in a deadly attack in 2013 where many Congress leaders were killed.
