Delhi High Court Fines Lawyer for Appearing From Moving Car

A lawyer joined a court hearing while sitting in a moving car.

The Delhi High Court said this was not an appropriate place for a virtual hearing.

The court explained that noise and movement can make it harder to conduct cases.

It also said lawyers should protect the dignity and proper functioning of the court.

Court rules generally discourage joining hearings from vehicles.

Such appearances may be allowed only in exceptional situations and with permission.

The court found that no exceptional situation was shown in this case.

It ordered the lawyer to pay Rs 1 lakh to a legal services committee.
