Doctors Remove 3.1-Kilogram Bladder Stone From Patient

Doctors found a very large stone inside a patient’s bladder.

The stone was about 17 centimeters long and weighed 3.1 kilograms.

That is about as heavy as a newborn baby.

It was reportedly about the size of an ostrich egg.

The patient was already in the hospital after having a stroke.

Doctors noticed that he was having trouble urinating.

Tests showed that the trouble was caused by the stone.

A team led by Dr Pragaladhan Balakrishnan removed it during surgery.

Doctors said it could possibly be a record, but the article does not confirm that it is one.
