Kejriwal Slams Congress Leader for Casteist Remarks Against Buta Singh
A big leader from the Congress party in Punjab said something mean about a former politician named Buta Singh that many people thought was related to caste.
The leader of another party, Arvind Kejriwal, said this was very wrong and showed how the Congress party thinks.
The Congress leader who made the comment later said he was sorry and that Buta Singh was like family to him.
Because of what he said, the police are now looking into the matter.
This is all happening while politicians are campaigning for a special election in Tarn Taran, which is on November 11.
The election is happening because the person who used to represent that area for the AAP party passed away.
Arvind Kejriwal condemned Punjab Congress chief Amrinder Singh Raja Warring for making 'casteist' remarks against the late Buta Singh.
Warring's remarks were made during campaigning for the November 11 Tarn Taran Assembly Bypoll.
Following criticism, Warring issued an 'unconditional apology' and stated Buta Singh was like a father figure.
Warring was subsequently booked for his 'derogatory and casteist' remarks based on a complaint by Buta Singh's son.
Kejriwal also highlighted the Bhagwant Mann government's achievements in Punjab, including government jobs and zero electricity bills.
