Zydus, Apollo Partner to Expand Early Cancer Detection in India
Zydus Lifesciences and Apollo Hospitals have teamed up to bring a new blood test called Shield™ to India.
The test can look for signs of 10 different cancers in people who are 45 or older.
By using this test in regular doctor visits, doctors can find cancers earlier and treat them better.
Zydus made a lot of money last year and spent a big part of it on research.
India has many new cancer cases each year, so this partnership could help many people get help sooner.
Zydus Lifesciences and Apollo Hospitals sign MoU to expand Guardant Health's Shield™ Multi-Cancer Detection test in India.
Shield™ targets adults 45+ and detects 10 common cancers from a single blood draw.
The partnership aims to integrate precision diagnostics into routine clinical practice for earlier intervention.
Zydus reported FY26 revenue of ₹27,148 crore and invested 8.4% of revenue in R&D.
India recorded 1.41 million new cancer cases and 900,000 deaths in 2022, highlighting need for better screening.
