Indian Startups See Fewer Layoffs in 2025
In 2025, the number of layoffs in Indian startups has gone down compared to 2024.
This year, 33 startups laid off 6,995 employees, which is a 24% decrease from the previous year.
The layoffs are not as frequent or large in scale as before, showing that startups are becoming more stable.
However, the funding for these startups has not increased much.

Looking ahead, India aims to add 1.28 crore jobs in 2026, with a focus on skills-led hiring and the rising prominence of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities as talent hubs.
