Government Reshuffles Bureaucrats and Police Officers

The Indian government has made several important changes in its bureaucracy.

Lav Aggarwal is now the head of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade.

Rabindra Kumar Agarwal will lead the Food Corporation of India, replacing Ashutosh Agnihotri, who moves to the Ministry of Environment.

Other changes include new leaders for the Department of Atomic Energy, the Ministry of Petroleum, and the Ministry of Health.

These changes are part of a regular update to ensure different government departments run smoothly.

The government also promoted two officers to higher positions.

This reshuffle involves 25 civil servants moving to new roles.

In Tamil Nadu, the government has promoted and transferred 70 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, including senior ranks from DIG to DGP, ahead of the expected announcement of the Assembly election.

The reshuffle aims to strengthen administrative efficiency and address evolving law-and-order priorities across the state.

Several commissionerates have seen major changes, with officers being moved to new roles and responsibilities.

The reshuffle also includes district-level postings across cybercrime, economic offences, administration, and central crime units.

Officials described the extensive reshuffle as a strategic move to ensure effective policing and administrative readiness in the lead-up to the state elections, impacting senior, mid-level, and district-level IPS officers.
