PIB Debunks Fake AI Video of President Murmu
There was a fake video that showed President Droupadi Murmu saying people could make a lot of money from a special investment.
But the government's fact-checking team said this was not true.
The President never said that.
The video was made using AI and was fake.
The government also warned people not to click on links that promise easy money because they might be trying to steal information.
A similar fake video was made about the Finance Minister earlier, and that was also found to be fake.
An AI-generated video falsely shows President Droupadi Murmu claiming guaranteed daily profits of up to ₹70,000 and ₹21 lakh per month from an investment of ₹23,000.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) debunked the video, stating it is fake and that the President has not endorsed any such investment scheme.
The original video was from a speech by the President on National Human Rights Day, which was edited to make false claims.
PIB advised people not to click on links making such claims, as they could be phishing attempts.
A similar AI-generated video of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman promoting a fake investment scheme was also debunked by PIB.
