Maharashtra Government Response Keeps Chakan Industries From Relocating

Twenty factories in Chakan had considered moving away because the area’s infrastructure was poor.

They were worried about traffic, roads, electricity, water, and waste.

Factory representatives raised these problems with Maharashtra government officials.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde then directed officials to fix the issues.

The industries said the government’s quick response made them more confident.

Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi will help coordinate the work.

The businesses now plan to stay and cooperate with the authorities.

They will wait to see whether the promised improvements are completed and last.
