Chittoor Focuses on High-Risk Pregnancies
In Chittoor, the District Collector had a meeting with doctors to talk about how to keep moms and babies healthy.
He said that nurses and health workers should check on pregnant women regularly, especially those who might have problems.
They should make sure these women get good food to prevent a condition called anaemia.
The Collector also said doctors should do at least four check-ups and send women to bigger hospitals if needed.
They want to stop child marriages too, because young moms can have more problems.
They looked at three sad cases where moms didn't make it in the last six months to learn how to do better.
District Collector Sumit Kumar chaired a review meeting on maternal deaths with medical officers in Chittoor.
He instructed medical officers to ensure continuous supervision of ANMs and ASHA workers to prevent maternal and infant deaths.
The Collector emphasized the importance of accurate registration of pregnant women and timely nutrition to prevent anaemia.
Special focus was placed on identifying high-risk pregnancies early and regular monitoring of health indicators like blood pressure and haemoglobin.
Doctors were instructed to conduct at least four mandatory check-ups and refer cases to higher centres when necessary, along with efforts to prevent child marriages and teenage pregnancies.
