NCERT Seizes 32,000 Pirated Textbooks in Raid
The NCERT, which makes school books, worked with the police to stop people from making and selling fake copies of their textbooks.
They found a place in Ghaziabad where thousands of fake books were being printed.
The police took all the fake books and the machines used to print them.
This was done to protect the real books and make sure students get the right ones.
The NCERT also warned that making or selling fake books is against the law and can hurt students by giving them bad or wrong information.
People are asked to buy books only from official places and to tell the NCERT if they see any fake books.
NCERT and Delhi Police Crime Branch seized 32,000 pirated textbooks in a raid at a printing facility in Village Jawli, Loni, Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh).
Items seized included 2 printing machines, aluminium printing plates, paper rolls, and printing ink, indicating large-scale unauthorized printing.
The action was based on an earlier FIR registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Copyright Act, 1957.
Officials from NCERT's Publication Division provided technical assistance during the raid and seizure proceedings.
NCERT reiterated that unauthorized printing, distribution, or sale of NCERT textbooks is a punishable offense under law and can adversely affect students and the education system.
