Guneet Monga Reveals Only 3% of Indian Films Directed by Women

Guneet Monga Kapoor, who won an Academy Award for producing The Elephant Whisperers, talked about how only 3% of Indian films are made by women directors.

She said this is because women face many challenges in the film industry.

Guneet believes that awards and recognition can help women feel more confident and motivated.

She also thinks it's important to have special programs to teach and support women filmmakers.

These programs can help women learn how to pitch their ideas, manage budgets, and work with actors.

Guneet is part of an organization called Women in Film India, which offers workshops and even scholarships to attend important film events like Cannes.

She hopes that with more support and mentorship, more women will be able to direct films and share their stories.
