Rail Division Seeks Land Return from State After 93 Years
Imagine the railway company wants some land back from the government after a very long time.
They gave the land to the government way back in 1931!
Now, they want the land to make the train station much better, like a super cool, modern one.
They also plan to build new homes for railway workers, offices, and even a market and playground.
But there is a problem because lots of people live on the land now.
The railway company says they need the land to make these plans happen.
The government is looking into their request.
Chakradharpur rail division requested the return of 339.25 acres of land from the East Singhbhum district.
The land was transferred to the then Bihar government in 1931.
The land is needed for the redevelopment of Tatanagar railway station, costing Rs 348 crore.
Planned projects are delayed due to the unavailability of land.
Around 2.5 lakh people currently reside on the land across Bagbera and Jugsalai.
