Kerala's K-Homes Project Remains Unimplemented Despite Demand
Kerala is trying to start a project called K-Homes to let tourists rent empty houses.
The idea is to use houses that aren't being used and help the tourism business.
Even though the project was announced a while ago, it hasn't started yet.
There are many empty houses in Kerala, and the government set aside some money to get things going.
Some people who own small hotels don't like the plan because they don't want the government helping people with empty houses.
But, others in the tourism sector think it's a good idea because it could bring in more tourists and money.
The K-Homes project in Kerala, aiming to rent out unoccupied houses to tourists, has not yet launched.
The project was announced approximately six months prior, with ₹5 crore earmarked for initial expenses.
Kerala has roughly 11.89 lakh vacant houses, with Pathanamthitta having a high concentration of premium unoccupied properties.
The project aims to provide revenue to house owners and ensure property maintenance.
The tourism sector is largely in favor of the project due to the high number of unoccupied houses.
