PM Modi Sets Citizen-First Values for UPSC Recruitment
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at an event celebrating 100 years of the UPSC.
The UPSC helps select people for important government jobs.
Modi said candidates should care about the nation and its citizens.
He said people should join public service to help others, not just to hold powerful positions.
He also said exams should test more than what candidates know.
They should consider why young people want to serve the country.
Modi wants officials to understand poor people’s difficulties and find creative solutions.
He called this approach “Nagrik Devo Bhava,” meaning citizens should be treated with the highest respect.
He also highlighted work that is pro-people, proactive, and focused on good governance.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Union Public Service Commission’s centenary celebrations at Bharat Mandapam.
He said UPSC recruitment should prioritize candidates committed to “nation first” and “citizens first.”
Modi urged young people to enter public service because of a desire to serve, rather than seek public office.
