Bengaluru to Feed Street Dogs Twice Daily
The city of Bengaluru in India is making changes to how they take care of street dogs.
After the Supreme Court told them to, the city is moving dogs from busy places like schools and hospitals to special shelters.
Now, these dogs will get chicken rice twice a day instead of once.
The city is spending more money to make sure the dogs are well-fed and healthy.
They are also giving each dog special care like vaccines and medicine.
This will cost the city a lot of money every month, but they think it's important to take good care of the dogs.
Bengaluru civic authorities will relocate street dogs from public spaces to designated shelters.
Dogs will now be fed chicken rice twice a day, up from once daily.
Each meal costs Rs 25 and includes rice, chicken, vegetables, oil, salt, and turmeric.
The total monthly cost per dog is Rs 3,035, including food, staff, and medical expenses.
There are 2,206 street dogs across government premises in Bengaluru, costing Rs 67 lakh per month to manage.
