India Makes Historic Debut at Free Fire World Cup
India sent three teams to the 2026 Free Fire World Cup in Paris.
The teams were Team Apex Gaming, S8UL Esports, and Total Gaming Esports.
This was the first time India had any teams in the event.
Team Apex Gaming made a big play called a Booyah and helped India get into the final round.
But in the final round, Team Apex and S8UL finished near the bottom of the standings.
Total Gaming was knocked out earlier even though they won two Booyahs.
The tournament was won by a Mexican team called LYON, who beat 33 opponents.
India’s teams showed they can compete, but they still have a long way to go.
The event was a mix of excitement and disappointment for Indian esports fans.
Indian teams Team Apex Gaming, S8UL Esports, and Total Gaming Esports qualified for the 2026 Free Fire World Cup in Paris, marking India's first appearance.
Team Apex Gaming earned India's first Booyah in the Survival Stage and finished second in their group to reach the Grand Finals.
Both S8UL Esports and Team Apex Gaming finished 11th and 12th respectively on the 12‑team leaderboard.
Total Gaming Esports were eliminated in the Survival Stage after winning two Booyahs.
Mexico's LYON won the tournament with a record‑breaking 33‑elimination performance.
